We are investigating reports of errors when attempting to send mail via the Zimbra Hosted Email platform. A subset of users are receiving an error message indicating a "Network Service Error" most often when attempting to send messages via webmail or email client.

IDENTIFIED

Engineers have identified a substantial increase in queries to the name servers used by the SMTP module of the Zimbra Hosted Email platform. Additional resources are being deployed to mitigate the contention causing errors when attempting to send messages.

Additional resources for the DNS infrastructure supporting the Zimbra Hosted Email platform are currently being tested before they are added to the production environment. Once in-line, these additional systems will help distribute the DNS load currently impairing user's ability to send email.

IDENTIFIED

Additional name servers have been deployed to the Zimbra Hosted Email platform to alleviate "Network Service Errors" seen by some users when trying to send email through the platform. The team continues to investigate the overall issue to identify a durable fix for the overall problem.

MONITORING

Additional resources added to the DNS system for the Zimbra Hosted Email system have significantly increased the responsiveness of the SMTP servers. We are monitoring the systems closely and ask members to please notify us of any abnormal behavior in the email platform.

Greetings, The NRTC Managed Services Administrative office will be closed Thursday, December 25th, and Friday December 26th, in observance of the Christmas holiday. NRTC Managed Services will reopen Monday, December 29th, at 8 AM EDT. We will also be closed on Wednesday, December 31st and Thursday, January 1st, in observance of the New Years Day Holiday. NRTC Managed Services will reopen Friday, January 2nd, at 8 AM EDT. The help desk is manned 24/7/365. Help desk will remain open during this time.
